One of my favorite pasttimes is sitting at the kitchen window watching the birds visiting the feeder in the backyard. We always have squirrels, mourning doves, cardinals, mockingbirds and house sparrows...oh,yes, & the occasional red tailed hawk perched on the fence trying to EAT my little birdies. (I love hawks, but not the fact that they are preying on my daily visitors!!!)
Well, the other day I look out there to find, not a hawk after my birds, but a huge corn snake. The snake was slithering on top of the fence near the bouganvillea that the birds love to hop on! It was so beautiful that I actually overlooked the fact that it was after the birds & went outside to take pictures of it. My children came out to get a closer view also. I was about a foot away from it when I snapped the shots. Didn't bother Mr. Snakie too much, but he did move on & left the birds alone.
