Did you know that it takes 12 contacts to make a client?
Posted On 06/08/2008 16:35:44
Did you know that it takes 12 contacts to make a client?
Twenty years ago, it only took 4 contacts!
This is because we are now living in an information society, and people are exposed to a lot of data.

Here are some interesting facts about each contact that you make:
- Contact #1 (50% of salespeople quit after making the first contact)
- Contact #2 (65% of salespeople quit by this point)
- Contact #3 (79.9% of salespeople have quit)
- Contact #4 (89.8% of salespeople have quit. It is interesting to note, that at this point, your prospect just begins to recognize your name)
- Contact #5 (you are becoming a factor in the prospect's mind)
- Contact #6 (slowly, they are getting to know you)
- Contact #7 (You are earning Top of Mind Awareness)
- Contact #8 (At this point, you may be the only person to ever have made 8   contacts with this customer)
- Contact #9 (At this point, when your prospect is ready to buy, you have a 90% chance of being called)
- By Contact #12, you have an 'Irresistible Relationship'

There are lots of different ways to make these contacts.
It's ideal to use at least 3 different media.
Try to brainstorm and make a list of 20 different ways to make contact with your prospects.
(This must be to a specific person).

Some ideas might be:
1. Face-to-face
2. Telephone
3. Newsletter
4. Postcard
5. Gifts
6. Ad specialty items
7. Networking groups
8. Email (be careful that you are not spamming them).
9. Greeting cards
10. Handwritten notes, etc.

Once you have put together your list, write down a plan.
This plan should include what type of a contact you will be making, as well as a schedule on when you will be making these contacts.
You might create an index file system, a notebook, or use a program such as ACT to track this and to keep notes.

Words of advise-
Posted On 06/06/2008 12:02:59
Words of wisdom:

****When getting a referral for someone in our group, don't just hand potential customer a business name...rather see if you can give customer contact info. to the person/business they are searching for.
By doing it this way, It gives the control to the business contact and allows them the option to follow up and generate a sale.

****If receiving a referral- be sure to follow up with a thank you note to the person who gave it to you... (within a reasonable amount of time).

Cheeseburger Bread
Cheeseburger Bread
0 Stars

How do you offer warm cheeseburgers at a potluck without a grill or skillet? Bake them in a loaf, of course! At the potluck, simply slice the loaf into individual servings for dipping in ketchup or mustard.

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

1 pound lean ground beef1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon pepper1/4 cup olive oil1 small onion, chopped1 small garlic clove, minced1 (16-ounce) box hot-roll mix (we used Pillsbury)1 1/4 cups warm water10 slices American cheese
1. Heat the oven to 375° F. Brown the beef in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off the fat and stir in the salt and pepper. Transfer the beef to a bowl and set it aside.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil in the skillet and sauté the onion and garlic for about 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in the beef.

3. In a large bowl, combine the roll mix, water, and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Stir until the dough is formed. Turn it out onto a floured surface and knead it for 5 minutes. Line a 10- by 15-inch cookie sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease the paper. Place the dough on the sheet, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rest for 5 minutes.

4. Press the dough out to the edges of the cookie sheet and slice it lengthwise to create two 5- by 15-inch rectangles. Sprinkle the beef mixture over the two doughs and top it with the slices of American cheese.

5. Fold over about 1 inch of the short ends, then roll up each rectangle the long way to create 2 loaves. Pinch the ends closed. Reposition the loaves so they're evenly spaced on the cookie sheet and brush the tops with the remaining olive oil. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let the loaves cool for about 7 minutes before slicing. Makes 24 servings.

What is detox?

“Detox” used to refer to the first step of a drug or alcohol abuse treatment process, however these days, “detox” has become a buzz word in the health and wellness world.  Upscale health spas have “detox” treatments to cleanse your body of toxins, health food stores stock a variety of “detox” cleanses like liver cleanses and colon cleanses, and a wide range of “detox” books give advice on detoxing to eliminate disease, reverse aging, lose weight, and more.

Why detoxify?

Detoxification is as essential to your well-being as a healthy diet and exercise.  Detoxification supports the body’s natural ability to cleanse and restore itself by eliminating impurities from the blood, liver, kidneys, lungs, digestive track, lymphatic system and skin.

Toxins are in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, and are even created when we experience stress.  We are continually exposed to toxins and pollutants like smoke, pesticides, fertilizer, plastics, dust, mold, heavy metals, household cleaners, dry cleaned clothing, animal dander, petra chemicals, and toxins are even emitted from photocopiers and electrical devices.  As toxins build up, they can overwhelm the body leading to:

·         Poor Digestion

·         Fatigue

·         Cravings for sugar or fatty foods

·         Stress

·         Skin Breakouts

·         Bad Breath or Body Odor

·         Yeast Infections, Jock Itch, or Foot Fungus

·         Weight Gain

·         Weakened Immune System

·         Premature Aging

Processes to Detoxify and Purify Your Body

1.  Provide your body with what it needs to stay healthy.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables daily, organic when available.  Fresh fruits and vegetables provide beneficial enzymes and fiber needed for proper assimilation and digestion of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.

Drink at least 64 ounces of pure, clean water daily.

 2. Eliminate as much toxic exposure as possible.

Reduce or eliminate cigarettes, alcohol, coffee, fried foods, highly processed foods, and foods with refined sugars and saturated fats.

Use personal care products without chemicals and excessive toxins.  Many daily use products like shampoos, deodorants and cleansers contain numerous chemicals and toxins that are absorbed into your body with use.

Reduce or eliminate the use of chemically-based household cleaners.  More natural cleaners like vinegar, baking soda, and others are often as effective, but without the toxic chemicals.  Many “green” variations of household cleaners are available, too.  Remember though that not all advertised “green” cleaners are necessarily free of toxins.

3.  Sweat

The skin is our largest organ and can be very helpful in toxic elimination.  Exercise that causes you to sweat and breathe deeper not only eliminates toxins through the skin, but also through the breath.  Incorporating at least 30 minutes of exercise into your daily routine will increase metabolism and improve circulation, as well.

Using a sauna will also help your body eliminate toxins through the natural process of sweating.

4.  Massage

Massage can stimulate the lymphatic system and help release toxins.  Be sure to drink plenty of pure, clean water after your massage to cleanse the released toxins out of your system.

5.  Skin Brushing

Skin brushing removes old skin cells, leaving your skin energized and radiant, but it does far more than just exfoliate your skin.  Skin brushing stimulates the lymphatic system, stimulates surface circulation, and draws out toxins through the skin. Before bathing, use a dry skin brush with soft, but firm bristles. Starting at the feet, brush in a circular motion and work towards the heart.

6.  Fasting

Be sure to consult a doctor before fasting.  Juice fasting involves drinking only fresh fruits and vegetables such as carrot, spinach, celery, cabbage, apple, pineapple and cranberry.  Citrus fruits are commonly excluded in a detox fast. Water fasting means that only water is consumed during the fast.  Typically, a fast will last from one to three days, but it’s very important that proper steps are taken both before and after the fast for it to be effective. Improper or lack of preparation before or after a fast can be dangerous so it’s important to consult a doctor before undergoing any type of fasting.

Live Clean, Live Better

Detoxification should be an ongoing process.  While some techniques, like fasting or supplemental cleanses, are meant to be occasional, many other detoxification methods are beneficial on an ongoing basis.

Our bodies are continually exposed to many different toxins from various sources.  Just as our homes are better maintained with regular care and cleaning, so are our bodies.  With a home, it’s easier to keep things clean on a regular basis than to let everything build up for months and try to clean it all at once.  In the same way, we can keep our bodies clean and healthy with consistent detoxification.

For optimal health, eliminate the toxin sources you can control, and provide your body with the necessary support to handle the unavoidable toxins of daily living.  The ideas listed above, when practiced regularly, will help purify and detoxify your body every day… so you can live better.
