The last of the rescued llamas went home yesterday....but not before they left their "mark". lol. Zorro and Caesar are going to a great home to be 4-H animals and fiber producers.
Caesar was the 1st to be loaded. It took quite a bit of convincing but he loaded into the trailer. Next was Zorro, my buddy. Of course the boys have gained weight since they came to Lynn's for TLC. Which in turn meant they were stronger too........enter catching Zorro. He was actually very easy to get my arms around him......then all heck broke loose and mama got run over by a llama. Oh and a size 12 man's shoe...complete w/ the man in them. Very muddy catch pen, healthy strong male llama who decided to spook for whatever reason...dogs barking...the donkey deciding to add his two cents, kids playing and off Zorro goes. Hung on trying not to get run over, Zorro hurt or someone else hurt but I was no match for the handsome guy. Down I went......Hit me w/ two feet.....left his footprint on my upper chest. Donny and his big shoes were next. Hey they missed my face!!!!! After all said and done the llamas are happy already in their new homes. I had an ER run. I have a couple of fractured ribs out of the deal. Considering if it had been my face...I'll take the hurting ribs thank you!
Of course...had the two older grandkids here to play w/ my son and I've heard "Grandma got run over by a llama" from hubby....and found out the daughters are singing their version too. It is funny afterwards.....the mud and other things, the wet cold mud and other things. Hey I get some serious knitting time out of this! I have yet to knit a stitch today though that is soon to be taken care of!
Look who showed up at our place March 11th!

He's an apricot Angora goat buck! He is definately a keeper! We haven't had any littles around here for yrs! I'm in heaven!

I found some sheep!!!!! Been looking for some good fiber critters. Have checked for Lincolns, Columbians, Coridales and Merinos.
Nice quality fiber sheep.....surprised myself and found two rare breeds w/ a breeder in Michigan.....one is the CVM sheep...California Variable Mutant sheep. North American sheep. Finnsheep is the other. Finns have a nice wool for spinning, are smaller and can deliver 3-4 or more lamb...they even refer to them as litters. lol......
Hmmmm....took the weekend to research all the breeds I'm interested in and the Finns have won! Late summer I'll be getting some Finnsheep! Totally cool!
That's 3 different fibers on the farm come fall...actually 4 forgot the alpacas. Llamas, angoras, sheep and alpacas....what spinning fun to have!
Afterthought.....Our angoras are due March 15th. Haven't had new younglings on the farm in a few yrs. Excited to say the least!
The last 48 hours have been busy, interesting and frustrating.....
I am adopting an alpaca - Kimba I found on Alpaca Nation. In the process of that I found out the person that owns Kimba grew up in the same basic area I lived until I was 8. Too cool...
This budding friendship resulted in her calling me about 22 llamas that need to find new homes. We have to do this by the 22nd of this month. 3-4 llamas finding homes easy! But finding homes for 22 is becoming difficult! I wish I had the room for all of them but I can only take on 4 at the moment. Struggling w/ the fact I'm picking 4 out of the 22 and then getting the rest of them homes! Here's hoping all 22 get homes! Keep happy thoughts for these wonderful critters so that all may find happy homes!
We have two oops three new members to our farm coming!
Kryptonite a black alpaca gelding! He's a leader so he may take to being one here too. Loves sprinklers and carrots.
Joe...don't ya just love the name so solid and not over the top weird. He's a Hycaya and Suri cross so we are having him gelded. Don't want to mess w/ any girls we bring in. He's best friend is a goat so we get the goat too...lol...
and Kimba. a white alpaca gelding. Gentle and sweet tempered. Great for my son! oh that would be five members....forgot to include the goat!
We go bring Krypto this week. Joe comes this week also and then Kimba will come in January.
Can't wait to get spinning the fiber! Oh the blends I can get! Add some mohair from the angora goats and it's gonna be sweet!
Add some sheep this spring and I'm off and running!
fiber, fiber fiber! love it! happy happy joy joy!

The page is done! I'm finally happy w/ the end result. W/ myWAHMspace getting hits I wanted my page to be more polished.
Will be adding other links and such as the days go by. But now the page done! Now what other work related thing can I get done in an hour?
My page is getting a total remodeling! From Background on up! Adding links, fixing formats, changing some things and adding others.
since the challenge has been made...i'm going for it! needed to do all that any way and now I have the incentive! So check up on me in a couple of days. I'll have it completely redone!
As I was getting my day started..I thought about Sanity Savers. The little things that help us git 'r done!
Crock pots: this thing is in use at least three days a week this time of year. Soup, roasts, casserole type things. Start it in the morning and I can feed the family after a long day....especially handy on days that the boy has karate. Dinner is done when we get home!
A hot cup of tea at the end of the day: no matter what the day brought, a cup of tea takes the roughness out of it. Enough said
A great game break: Be it a action - Mario or Rachet and Clank, roll-play - Myst trilogy, Sudoku or even solitare it helps the brain w. the work stuff.
Knitting: No surprise on this one! Give me a couple of needles or maybe 5 double pointed ones and some "string" and I'm happy! It's amazing what you can get done while you wait for the file to load, while the phone is ringing to a customer/client, or getting the printing done...a stitch or row at a time does get the project done!
Networking: My WAHM Space! Or another forum. Just a place to share etc. It helps the work related things and the other roles we play!
Exercise: Been getting back into it and it has helped already! Now I have to keep at it! But the results on stress, etc..are just too awesome to give up!
So, what are your Sanity Savers?
I am so frustrated...had my launch for my new direct sales jewelry biz. Only one person came. Not one family member...no one else. I rented the local Lions building since it's been raining and my place is mud. One of the members had stopped in to refill the pop machine and his wife took a catalog. Fingers crossed! the lack of support from family and friends is giving me such a boost...lol...really starting to wonder about my choice of companies. I need to hear something positive about the whole thing. Two months of beating my head up against the wall of no's.....when should I toss in the towel w/ this company?
Why not scream the name? Not supposed to even put the company name in blogs and such..I have but it would be my luck that I get smacked down for that too...
thanks for reading! so confused on where to head...
