I am so frustrated...had my launch for my new direct sales jewelry biz. Only one person came. Not one family member...no one else.  I rented the local Lions building since it's been raining and my place is mud. One of the members had stopped in to refill the pop machine and his wife took a catalog.  Fingers crossed! the lack of support from family and friends is giving me such a boost...lol...really starting to wonder about my choice of companies. I need to hear something positive about the whole thing. Two months of beating my head up against the wall of no's.....when should I toss in the towel w/ this company?

Why not scream the name? Not supposed to even put the company name in blogs and such..I have but it would be my luck that I get smacked down for that too...

thanks for reading! so confused on where to head...

the newspaper ad has to be run through Home Office. Hard to have had any bad consultants when you are only in the biz for 9 weeks! launch was August 25...lol...they even want to okay flyers.

Not being able to make a flyer just to hang out like at the bank's bullentin board w/o ho's input makes it really hard to generate biz...

The online party I'm gonna try later this month!

I actually had someone place an order this week..totally out of the blue! Delighted to say the least!

Thanks for the support....I am still deciding if I'm gonna stay w/ this company! givening it 6 months to see if it's a good fit....I will know in that time if it is.

Have a new plan started and finding new ways to connect w/ people, get sales etc!

Again thanks!

This is my least favorite things about some companies.  I can not be with a company that won't let me state the name.  I do understand why they do it as they've gotten burnt in the past by bad consultants, but it is so hard to generate business.

That said, you can't count on family, as you have seen.  They are the last people I even ask anymore for sales.  Are you allowed to post flyers around town with the name on them and take out an inexpensive classified ad in a local paper?

Can you have an online party?  You could post it as just a jewelry party and then give us the site to go to?  Or do you even have a site?

Love to help ya out, so pm or email me if you want it!

How are you suppose to get people interested in it if you can't mention the name?  I mean there are a number of jewelry compaines out there, and some are ok, some aee good and others I just don;t know anything about....but if it was one of the one's that i have had a good experience with, then that would peak my interest.

Is it only online that you aren't allowed to name them? What is the reasoning on that? Just wondering....

No advice, sorry to say, as much as I would love to have some for you.  Hope it gets better!

thanks lauren! hey it's a tax write-off so no biggie...my warm market is so cold that I need to wear a coat. Running any specials....ya know i didn't even think about picking a couple of pieces and running them as specials...the ones the company has currently aren't special price but things that arent' in the  catalog.

Planning on running an ad in the papers around here....plus community page stuff to get the word out...and pasting so many flyers around that people will get to know about the company....it is so hard to stay positive when the "trainer" treats ya like a loser...that's been fixed but still....

thanks again!

Ok Knit!

I hear your frustration!  But don't give up quite yet!  Two months is only a dnet!  You've got to give it some time for the word to spread - if this is a new company then the name isn't known.  You might not be able to depend on your "warm market" for sales, but they may be good for word of mouth!

Give them all soe business cards to pass out, or ask them to mention you to friends, etc. and to keep you in mind if they know anyone who knows anyone who might be interested. LOL

Do you have a Christmas special you can offer - some incentive to draw them in?  Would any of your friends, family be intersted in hostessing?  What about putting together some sort of a promotion to get the women to tell their men what they want out of your catalog for Christmas?

I'm rambling - but I'm sure we all could help you come up with some other offline marketing tactics!  Hate that you had to put that money out to rent the ahal and no one showed! :(
